In order to be admitted to study at Bugema University, a student needs to present to the Registrar's office
1. O-level certificate with five (5) credit passes in approved subjects, including a pass in English Language, or its equivalent.

2. A-level certificate with two (2) principal passes or its equivalent. The School/Department in which the applicant wishes to register prescribes certified additional course requirements.

Registration Procedure:

2. Fill the form correctly and attach copies of all your education certificates and documents along with the application fee as stipulated in the application form.
3. Return these documents promptly to the Registrar?s office at least 3 weeks before the beginning of the new academic year.
If your application is accepted, you will receive a notification-of-acceptance letter from the Registrar. You may come to the University only if you have already received the acceptance letter.

Academic Affairs:

We offers a variety of degree, diploma and certificate courses. A student is expected to make intelligent choices from the available academic programs that will lead to a lifetime career. Students coming from non-English speaking countries will be required to write an English placement examination prior to enrolling for their first semester. If the student does not obtain 50% in this test, he/she will be required to attend remedial English classes for one semester.

Academic Documents for Admission:

At the time of the student’s first registration, the student is required to present original documents. They will be certified and returned to the student. However, a student may be requested to present them again at the Registrar’s office or to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Academic office should the need arise.

Admissions Status:

If you are admitted to Bugema University, you are placed in one of the following classifications:
Pre-degree:
When you are admitted based on an ‘O’ level certificate and you are doing two extra semesters of intensive study.
First Year:
When you have fulfilled all entrance requirements for your course of study for a degree program.
Second Year:
When you come from a country where entrance requirements to university are an A-level Certificate or have completed the pre-degree program, and you have acquired a minimum of 36 semester credit units.
Third Year:
When you come from a country where entrance requirements to university are an A-level Certificate or have completed the pre-degree program, and you have acquired a minimum of 72 semester credit units.

Registration:

Students are required to report to the university on the scheduled date so that they may register on time and begin classes on time. Usually, one week is set apart for registration. During registration, new students are given orientation to the university and its programs and facilities.
